‘Towers of Carton’ is a building competition that takes place annually in the School of Architecture of Paris-La Villette (ENSAPLV). This event is based on a unique mixture of design, building, celebration and sports! The last day is the Climbing Musical Day, open to the public at Al Muntazah Circle in Jabal Al Weibdeh.

The Memory Matrix is a monument that explores the possibilities for future heritage creation, employing new fabrication techniques and transcultural workshops. This talk is by Azra Akšamija, an artist and designer from Sarajevo based in Boston, where she is Associate Professor at the MIT Program in Art, Culture and Technology.

The workshop will present a pilot project for public schools developed by The Center for the Study of the Built Environment (CSBE) and teach basic participatory design applications for working with youth. Ahmad Humeid discusses the story and philosophy behind the Amman’s Unofficial Transport Map designed by Syntax this year in collaboration with Ma’an Nasel. Humeid talks about how this map changes our perception of the city and how it can influence the conversation around public transport and city services.

The Wild Jordan Center, which has a magnificent location overlooking the old city of Amman, the Citadel and the huge Jordanian flag, is owned by the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN). Using a people-centered approach to protecting nature, RSCN has developed business ventures using the natural assets of protected areas to create sustainable economic and social benefits for local communities.

This joint exhibition at the TIRAZ Centre takes you back to a time of superstitions and magic through jewelry. The exhibition features hand-selected pieces ranging from the early 20th century until today from Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Oman and Yemen.
