The 2016 design exhibition takes place at the Amman Electricity Hangar in Ras El Ain. Designed and curated by architect Sahel Al Hiyari, the exhibition showcases original work by local and regional designers. The exhibition focuses on ideas of locality, challenging our understanding of design and its ability to push the boundaries of material, scale, form and function.

Located in the Jordan Museum, the MakerSpace is a forward-looking celebration of the Maker Movement. Visitors are invited to explore and interact with the modern tools and methods of creation, including digital fabrication technology, 3D printers, audio-visual devices and advanced robotics. These are situated alongside the museum’s collection of ancient tools, creating a juxtaposition that helps shed light on the evolution of innovation.

The Raghadan Tourist Terminal transforms into a social space exploring the importance of craft in issues of empowerment, self-expression and storytelling. Curated by architect Dina Haddadin, this exhibition offers a holistic link between culture, heritage and contemporary craft through a series of pop-up shops, demonstration booths, design installations and a local food component.

The faculty, which is open to the local community, holds art exhibitions for its students and academic members, reflecting their diverse schools of art, and presenting a clear picture of the faculty’s artistic richness. The current exhibition showcases the works and projects of students from the Architecture, Interior Design and Graphic Design departments during the 2015-2016 academic year.

‘Through letters’ is an exhibition that highlights the use of letters in the designs of Hamza Bounoua’s art. He aims to create a universal visual language, drawing inspiration from a medley of cultural traditions, including the art of ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia, African tribal masks, totemic figures, graffiti and East Asian and Arabic penmanship.

The installation is a window display of a mechanically driven geometrical sculpture that can be reconfigured and designed by members of the audience’s hand movements. It is a playful installation, simply empowering the audience with the power of design through seamless technology.

​The workshop gives an overall vision of the art of lighting and its related functions from a technical and stylistic point of view. Students will learn theoretical data and awareness about the lighting design field and new technologies, with a practical outcome that will help them develop a personal design language to conform to the requirements of the visual task.

This exhibition displays the works and working methodologies of the studio's designer, Rand El Haj Hasan, and her guests from Flaÿou​ the multidisciplinary design studio based in Tunis. Flaÿou, consisting of Hella El Khiari and Thomas Egoumenides, is dedicated to object, graphic and environmental design and is focused on the joyful exploration of non-conformist ideas.

This joint exhibition at the TIRAZ Centre takes you back to a time of superstitions and magic through jewelry. The exhibition features hand-selected pieces ranging from the early 20th century until today from Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Oman and Yemen.

This jewelry-making workshop is part of the Memory Matrix project, exploring possibilities of future heritage creation, employing new fabrication techniques and transcultural collaborations. The workshop participants will be using the cutouts from these pixels to create jewelry, which can be sold to benefit the education of refugees and communities affected by conflict and crisis.
