Young innovators from Eureka Tech Academy are displaying their innovative tech-projects and the process that they went through to reach the final working prototype.

Participants will learn how to build a paper kite using 3D Printing and laser cutting.

The "Lightweaver" workshop is part of the "Design for a Nomadic World" exhibition, which explores how art, architecture and design can address the emotional, cultural and aesthetic needs of refugees, while fostering a better cross-cultural understanding and a social cohesion between migrant and host communities.

When painting on fabric, the options are limitless. From canvas to t-shirts, learn techniques specific to fabric painting that will open up entire new worlds of artistic possibilities.

Tea by Design is a one-hour workshop which invites participants to design their own unique tea aromas and flavors by using loose leaf teas, tisanes and herbs. The workshop will begin with a discussion on the history, alchemy and origins of tea and will focus on the art of reflecting feelings, scents, and flavors into a single brew of tea.

This accessories making workshop introduces participants to the traditional art of loom weaving. Mastered by Bedouins for hundreds of years, loom weaving is a craft used by tribes to make beautiful functional and decorative pieces. Each Bedouin tribe has its own tradition in the designs used; each pattern on a rug or tapestry tells unique story belonging to that tribe. Participants in the workshops will apply similar weaving techniques to make their own unique beaded bracelet. A modern take on an old tradition, this workshop aims to keep the tradition of loom weaving alive.

In this workshop, Amal presents her personal experience dealing with waste and speaks about the challenges and benefits of recycling and finding creative ways to reuse waste. Participants will learn creative ways to repurpose waste, and should bring recyclable items, like water bottles, juice containers and food cans.

The workshop provides an introduction to 3D Printing and its technologies and where and how this technology is used on a global scale.

Visit ‘Love on a Bike’ to participate in solving a 2000-piece jigsaw puzzle of one of Rima Malallah’s paintings. After a week of communal puzzle solving, a time-lapse video of the group effort will be created and shared online.

As Amman looks to institutionalize resilience planning citywide, Resilience by Design University (RBD_U) is an opportunity for academics, students and practitioners to come together through a two-day event focused on Amman’s challenges of water, waste and transportation.

This translation workshop is part of a larger knowledge dissemination project initiated by CLUSTER which aims to bring together experts, both academics and practitioners, in the fields of arts, design, architecture and urbanism.
