About the Workshop
When Rima Malallah first got into Islamic geometry and started incorporating it into her work, it often felt like she was painting by solving a puzzle. Visit ‘Love on a Bike’ to participate in solving a 2000-piece jigsaw puzzle of one of Rima Malallah’s paintings. After a week of communal puzzle solving, a time-lapse video of the group effort will be created and shared online.
About Love on a Bike
Rima Malallah established Love on a Bike – a design and production studio and shop – in 2006. The shop sells a variety of handmade products including pottery, woodwork, glasswork, original paintings and prints, as well as custom made furniture and lamps. As a multidisciplinary artist and crafter, Rima focuses on pottery, mural work, and watercolor painting. Her influences range from Japanese animation to Islamic geometry. She creates compositions that are equal parts narrative and pattern when painting, and produces decorative and functional pottery work.
