This workshop will teach participants how to make folk instruments Shababa and Nay from local resources at a minimal cost. Participants will also learn about the popular heritage of musical instruments, the Dabkeh and its relationship with folk music, and folk music’s role in social life and culture.

The workshop shows participants how to reuse plastic waste materials to create different artworks and craft items, like simple musical instruments and toys.

A short seminar that introduces participants to the newest software from Autodesk – Fusion 360. The four-day workshop will teach participants how to design parts and models with stable and dynamic joints, transferring any idea from imagination to reality.

The three-day workshop aims to briefly go through the fashion design process from design to making, to realise one design in three-dimensional form. Through discussions and exercises, students will be shown how to research a theme, develop it into a capsule collection of basic elasticated waist skirts, and how to pattern-cut and construct their final chosen skirt.​

Participants of this workshop will receive an introduction to basic garden design, and will be asked to come up with an abstract drawing that will be transformed into a garden plan. Participants will learn a simplistic method of transforming shapes into garden areas and plans.

Visit ‘Love on a Bike’ to participate in solving a 2000-piece jigsaw puzzle of one of Rima Malallah’s paintings. After a week of communal puzzle solving, a time-lapse video of the group effort will be created and shared online.

This accessories making workshop introduces participants to the traditional art of loom weaving. Mastered by Bedouins for hundreds of years, loom weaving is a craft used by tribes to make beautiful functional and decorative pieces. Each Bedouin tribe has its own tradition in the designs used; each pattern on a rug or tapestry tells unique story belonging to that tribe. Participants in the workshops will apply similar weaving techniques to make their own unique beaded bracelet. A modern take on an old tradition, this workshop aims to keep the tradition of loom weaving alive.

In this workshop, Amal presents her personal experience dealing with waste and speaks about the challenges and benefits of recycling and finding creative ways to reuse waste. Participants will learn creative ways to repurpose waste, and should bring recyclable items, like water bottles, juice containers and food cans.
