Design is rarely neglected in filmmaking, but sometimes it seems invisible because an audience assumes that everything they see on a screen was already there. That's the magic of design for film: you're not always supposed to be aware of it. It's all a trick.

Attend the Education UK Design Mini-Fair will be a chance to meet a network of elite UK-accredited universities. The universities’ representatives will be able to answer all your questions about studying design in the UK.

The seminar will adopt an engaging rapport with the students, presenting them with a model of a green home in addition to relevant illustrations and devices. The seminar will expose children in Jordan to concepts of design and the function of architecture through the craftsmanship embodied in the model.

Celebrating the remarkable work of this year’s graduating class, the first JO Grad Show is a local exhibition of students graduating with degrees in Graphic Design and Interior Design from Jordanian universities.

Max Fraser joins the designer and curator of Amman Design Week’s Hangar Exhibition, architect Sahel Al Hiyari and the Director of the Center for the Study of the Built Environment, architect and architectural historian Mohammad Al-Asad, in a talk that will explore new technologies, consumption, changing attitudes from consumers and clients, and global problems as they relate to the world of design.

NE+AR shares their knowledge and perspective, exploring added local value, as well as creating a network of like-minded designers working on multi-disciplinary and cross-cultural projects. NE+AR is a bridge building initiative between The Netherlands and the Arab world. They believe that while it is common to anchor oneself in local initiatives and people, innovative technologies help us connect with like-minded individuals and organizations all over the world.

This workshop by Mieke Meijer and Roy Letterlé explores how heritage can be a significant resource for designers in order to develop unique, recognizable, relevant and meaningful designs that will stand the test of time. The works of Studio Mieke Meijer start from constructions and architectonic shapes to form alternate spatial structures where the interplay between space and user are central.
