​The workshop gives an overall vision of the art of lighting and its related functions from a technical and stylistic point of view. Students will learn theoretical data and awareness about the lighting design field and new technologies, with a practical outcome that will help them develop a personal design language to conform to the requirements of the visual task.

‘Towers of Carton’ is a building competition that takes place annually in the School of Architecture of Paris-La Villette (ENSAPLV). This event is based on a unique mixture of design, building, celebration and sports! The last day is the Climbing Musical Day, open to the public at Al Muntazah Circle in Jabal Al Weibdeh.

Design is rarely neglected in filmmaking, but sometimes it seems invisible because an audience assumes that everything they see on a screen was already there. That's the magic of design for film: you're not always supposed to be aware of it. It's all a trick.

Learn the basics of papermaking using natural, local materials and the traditional techniques of the craftswomen of Iraq al Amir. Participants will experiment with fallen palm leaves, grass, flowers, sumac, red henna, saffron, rose leaves, paprika, tea and local coffee.

While the catalogue of materials available to architects and 3D printing have exponentially increased the possibility to marry innovation with value, most of us still paint within our comfort zone. Instead of limiting our use to a traditional palette consisting of concrete, wood, brick, glass, and metal, however, we have expanded our use of available materials to embrace a design ethos that bridges research, practice, and the possibilities.

Till now and counting, there are 95 design weeks throughout the world, each generating massive impact on a city by attracting media attention, tourism and helping the economy. The collective dialogue invites local designers to engage on the world stage.

Facilitated by Faisal Nemri, who currently works as the Mixed Dimensions Marketing researcher for both its products MakePrintable and GamePrint, this workshop introduces the concepts and basics of 3D design for 3D printing, and takes a hands-on approach enabling participants to design their first 3D printable object.
