In Turbo: Local Industries

In Turbo: Local Industries invite viewers to experience Local Industries' new collection. Among the designs unveiled is the sub-collection TAWI, named after a technique consisting of folding thin steel sheets to rigidify essential parts of different furniture pieces. Local Industries will also be presenting Khalil steel chair that comes in a single, double or triple seater configuration, as well as a shelving system, an armchair, a counter, a rocking deckchair and many other surprises.

About Local Industries

Local Industries was founded in 2012 by Elias and Yousef Anastas. Their keen interest with furniture stems from their architectural work. As Palestinian architects, they were looking for a way to insert local craft techniques to their work. Local Industries’ goal is to offer to an international clientele a highly functional furniture crafted by local artisans. This endeavor aims to reassert the value of local Palestinian labour without freezing it in a traditional and obsolete role or imposing alien standards to its method of work.
