We surround ourselves with products that are mostly static, while in nature everything is in constant motion. Studio Martens & Visser believes that through digital means, smart materials, old techniques and craftsmanship, motion can be brought back into our domain and that the non-static will become a bigger and more important element in our future daily environments. This lecture will explore how we use motion in our designs.

Michiel Martens was born in 1985, in The Hague. During his studies at the Design Academy Eindhoven he researched how motion can be used in our direct surroundings. In 2011 he started collaborating with Jetske Visser as Studio Martens & Visser.
