About the Exhibition
Seeking out the handmade, this interactive exhibition reveals the human touch. The objects on display are the result of a 10-week collaborative effort which brought artisans and designers residing in Jordan together to explore the roots of the design process and the drive behind creating objects with meaning. "The Humble Table", curated by Namliyeh, celebrates irregularity and modestly made items that are inspired by the local craft scene using raw and natural materials. These bespoke items lend a new appreciation for the craft of making while rethinking the impact we create, and instilling a more humble appetite for the amount of stuff we choose to acquire. This orchestrated table experience revives the overlooked traditional techniques of production, placing the designed objects in an interactive dinner set-up.
