Aquaponics is a sustainable food production system. It uses the waste produced by our aquatic life to supply the nutrients to grow plants. The plants, in turn, purify the water to recycle it back to the aquarium. In this installation, Turtle Green will use their aquatic turtles to grow aromatic herbs that are used with tea. Applying aquaponics in the hospitality sector within the city is a very exciting urban agriculture concept that can provide green fresh products straight to the consumer. It also presents a learning opportunity for the city dwellers that might inspire them to apply it at home.

About Turtle Green Tea Bar

Turtle Green is a local brand that is specialized in tea. Since their establishment in 2010, they've designed their own tea blends with local ingredients and they manufacture them and package them in their own workshop. They design tea utensils and teaware, and manufacture them locally and abroad. They are a specialized tea supplier for restaurants and cafes and supply them with tea, teaware, tea training and consultation. At the cafe, they serve tea directly to customers along with sweets and snacks, and have a teashop where the customers can buy their own tea and teaware.
