Amman Design Week and CreaCities invite designers, artists, architects, and creatives interested in creating a new collection that integrates their expertise with two traditional local crafts; clay and glassblowing.

The program will select five participants, who will have the unique opportunity to work hand-in-hand with local craftsmen to produce a new collection of unique, multifaceted design pieces that combine clay and glass. The pieces will be researched, conceptualized, and produced during the program, and debuted to an international audience at Amman Design Week 2019.

The Innovative Crafts Lab will take place over four phases, starting with a three-day (21 hour) hands-on design lab, running from 21 - 23 September, 2018. Participants will be engaged in a process of co-creation over the subsequent three phases, and will be offered a seed fund of up to JOD 300, as well as guidance and mentorship by Samer Yamani, the Creative Director of CreaCities, and Matteo Silvero, a glassblowing expert from Murano Italy.

Interested applicants must submit their project proposals and applications online here by the 2nd of September, 2018.

This program is sponsored by EUNIC Jordan, Amman Design Week, and Instituto Cervantes.
