The Amman Design Week gift shop is an exploration of a new approach to retail space design. It is designed by Dina Al Ahmad, who is founding Partner and Principal Architect of ARD Design. Al Ahmad previously worked at Jafar Tukan Architects and Sahel Al Hiyari Architects, where she was involved in several high-profile projects in the region.

Al Ahmad later co-founded ARD Design, which is an Amman-based creative architecture and design studio. ARD Designs’ recent work explores the intersection of interior space, industrial design, and the retail experience.

The design of the gift shop, using hexagons, is based on expanding the potential of a simple unit, or a cell, repeated through different arrangements to form different wall units, tables, freestanding display units, or stools.

Believing that good design brings delight to everyday lives, the Amman Design Week Gift Shop will feature products carefully selected from local designers that reflect emerging trends in contemporary design, fashion, music and culture. The Gift shop will also include items produced exclusively for ADW.

Examples of the items that will be selling at the Amman Design Week Gift Shop include custom made ADW branded notebooks and pencils, t-shirts, and much more.

The Gift Shop will also feature a selection of chairs designed by Local Industries and produced in Palestine.
