ِAbout the Workshop

This 45-minute interactive seminar will explain the concept behind green healthy homes. Children will hear about environmentally responsible approaches to site conditions, energy efficiency, water efficiency, material economy and indoor environmental quality pertaining to residences in Amman, Jordan. The seminar will adopt an engaging rapport with the students, presenting them with a model of a green home in addition to relevant illustrations and devices. The seminar will expose children in Jordan to concepts of design and the function of architecture through the craftsmanship embodied in the model.

About Maiss Razem

Maiss Razem has a BA in Architectural Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), and a Masters Degree in Architecture from Virginia Tech University. She worked at Dar Al-Omran Architectural Design Office and TURATH Architecture and Urban Design Consultants, and has taught at various Jordanian universities. During her career in the professional and academic practice, she focused on the design of green buildings, and is accredited as a LEED AP BD+C from the USGBC. She is currently the head of Green Building Architectural Committee at the Jordan Engineers Association, board member at the Energy Conservation & Sustainable Environment Society, and the leader of the voluntary initiative (Bayti-Bee’ati) that aims to spread environmental awareness among the young generation.
