In 2012, the inaugural edition of Design Days Dubai shifted the limelight to product design to be more specific and introduce collectible and limited edition designs. This started a regional conversation in design and what followed was exemplary; design residencies, programs, and awards, the focus of which was the Dubai Design Week. Till now and counting, there are 95 design weeks throughout the world, each generating massive impact on a city by attracting media attention, tourism and helping the economy. The collective dialogue invites local designers to engage on the world stage.

Cyril Zammit has worked at the Institut Français in Prague, the Cultural Department of the French Embassy in London, UBS (Basel/Zurich), HSBC Private Bank (Suisse), and Abu Dhabi’s Cultural Department of Tourism Development & Investment Company and he is now Director of Design at the Art Dubai Group. He managed sponsorship for Montreux Jazz Festival, the Art Basel and Art Basel Miami Beach for UBS Bank, Design Miami, and Design Miami/Basel for HSBC before creating and launching Design Days Dubai. Zammit continues to coordinate with global design galleries, renowned designers, and professionals from the design industry, to strengthen Design Days Dubai’s role as the definitive modern and contemporary design show.
