‘The Water Table’ is an interactive installation featured at the Hangar Exhibition. The work is the product of the coming together of a multidisciplinary collective consisting of Eyas Tayyem, Ala’a Ali, Michael Schinköthe, Basheer Anani and Ahmad Sabbagh.

During ADW, Design Institute Amman will be offering 4 different workshops to pique your interest in fashion design and typography. The workshops, lead by industry professionals from the region, will be a short yet intense introduction that will pave the way to a new set of skills and knowledge.

This September, Amman Design Week is teaming up with Disarming Design from Palestine on a collaborative learning workshop that is focused on contemporary critical product design, hosted by Darat al Funun and in collaboration with the artisans of the Gaza Refugee camp in Jerash and the design students of the Sandberg Instituut Amsterdam.

The Crafts District this year features a variety of pop-up shops displaying an array of various craft work, designs, and products. Located within an open-air structure designed by architect Dina Haddadin, the crafts shops will be open from 10 am to 10 pm throughout 6 - 14 October.

The Craft of Making is a program curated by Shermine Sawalha, that pays homage to local heritage, the importance of build a thriving creative economy, and the enduring, human drive to create things with our own hands.

With an array of films that tell intriguing stories about how design impacts life, the program offers a selection that will entertain and intrigue, posing questions about conscious design, sustainability in creation and use and design in diverse fields like journalism, press and education.
