Max Fraser joins the designer and curator of Amman Design Week’s Hangar Exhibition, architect Sahel Al Hiyari and the Director of the Center for the Study of the Built Environment, architect and architectural historian Mohammad Al-Asad, in a talk that will explore new technologies, consumption, changing attitudes from consumers and clients, and global problems as they relate to the world of design.

A little journey through Filippo Protasoni’s works, seen through the design process and stories from offstage that make a project valuable for market and clients. Filippo Protasoni studied in Italy and Norway, graduating from Politecnico di Milano. He has designed for important Italian brands, such as Lago, Prandina, Miniforms, Sintesi and Mirabello.

It is a vision that represents a place, not a point, and allows enough space to hit the target. This workshop will answer: What vision do I need in today’s world? How do I make my vision resilient? What makes a vision compelling?

In this workshop participants learn from low-tech, craftsmanship techniques and understand how to use them for creating a dynamic design – creating an evolution out of the static and towards fluid motion.

In this speech Paul Hughes will draw live as he speaks along ten meters of paper. He calls this unique form of storytelling Ten Meters of Thinking.

NE+AR is a bridge building initiative between The Netherlands and the Arab world. This workshop by Mieke Meijer and Roy Letterlé explores how heritage can be a significant resource for designers in order to develop unique, recognizable, relevant and meaningful designs that will stand the test of time. The works of Studio Mieke Meijer start from constructions and architectonic shapes to form alternate spatial structures where the interplay between space and user are central.
